Type C

Type C sockets, also known as Europlug sockets, have a round, recessed, receptacle with two round, parallel, line and neutral pin holes.

Type C sockets only accept type C plugs.

Type E sockets, also known as French sockets, have a round, recessed, receptacle with two round, parallel, line and neutral pin holes, and a round, offset, male grounding pin.

Type E sockets accept types E, C, and F plugs.

Type F

Type F sockets, also known as Schuko, or German sockets, have a round, recessed, receptacle with two round, parallel, line and neutral pin holes, and a grounding contact on each side.

Uncommon Sockets

In parts of Niger travelers might also encounter types A, B, and D sockets.

Type A sockets, also known as US, or North American sockets, have a flat receptacle, with two rectangular, parallel, pin holes, one slightly larger than the other.

Type A sockets only accept type A plugs.

Type B sockets, also known as US, or North American sockets, have a flat recepticle with two rectangular, parallel, pin holes, one slightly larger than the other, and a round, offest, grounding pin hole.

Type B sockets accept types A, and B plugs.

Type D sockets, also known as Indian sockets, have a flat receptacle with two parallel line and neutral pin holes, and a round, offset, wider, grounding pin hole.
