Most of Macau's homes and businesses use types C, and F sockets.

Type F

Type F sockets, also known as Schuko, or German sockets, have a round, recessed, receptacle with two round, parallel, line and neutral pin holes, and a grounding contact on each side.

Type F sockets accept types E, C, and F plugs.

Uncommon Sockets

In parts of Macau travelers might also encounter types D, M, and G sockets.

Type D

Type D sockets, also known as Indian sockets, have a flat receptacle with two parallel line and neutral pin holes, and a round, offset, wider, grounding pin hole.

Type D sockets accept types D, and C plugs.

Type M

Type M sockets, also known as South African sockets, have a flat receptacle with two parallel line and neutral pin holes, and a round, offset, wider, grounding pin hole.

Type M sockets only accept type M plugs.

Type G

Type G sockets, also known as UK, or British sockets, have a flat receptacle with two rectangular, parallel, line and neutral pin holes, with an offset, perpendicular, grounding pin hole, all with shutters to prevent the insertion of foreign objects.

Type G sockets accept type G plugs, and their 2-pin variants.
